MEET OUR BASKET MAKER
Bill is primarily a teacher at heart. His career with the Tennessee Aquarium takes him into the local schools to share his accumulated knowlege about conservation and living things in the Tennessee Valley. He has been a friend of ours for several years as he has mentored my husband and I in learning about birds, particularly raptors, butterflies and other things we have encountered while in nature. We have spent countless hours with him on the hawk watch in Soddy Daisy, TN, and on bird counts in counties in and around Hamilton Co., TN. In addition, he is a basket-maker. Taking natural materials he collects himself, whenever he finds a bit of downtime, he may be making baskets. Their natural flow, and solid, sturdy construction make them an item to keep for a life time. One of Bill's baskets will more than likely be around when you are gone. I know his impact on the lives of many people in the area will continue long after he's gone.
